Personal Branding is the art of inception in the mind of the public of an individual by identifying themselves in a position of authority. This elevates the credibility and distinguishes them from their competition for widespread influence. It is one’s own devoir on how they present themselves. This makes one recognize as the master of their niche and build a reputation.

Personal Branding entails building a brand around an individual rather than a business entity. The process is not an overnight success. It is built on foundations of planning, hard work, acceptance, and the ability to accept, adapt and overcome.

Importance of Personal Branding

Personal Branding will impart a significant difference in one. Clients will pay a tier 1 service provider pay three times the amount they would to an undistinguished brand. Buyers are willing to pay a premium for experts that are distinguished over their undistinguished colleagues. Buyers shell out extra confidence that a distinguished expert will bring more experience and girth to their entity. They believe the reputed experts would dissipate the task quickly with precision.

A good level of Personal Branding attracts more clients. Well-branded individuals are able to secure valuable partnerships more easily with reputed organizations. The process of competitive proposals is binned. This in return builds the reputation of the organization the individual represents.

Skills for the Professionals

A Big Idea

A new idea can make all the difference. Invest in a little book in which you can make notes. This must always be accessible to you. One might ideate in the most unexpected time. When you look at them, you might feel some are absurd. But it may come in handy in the most unlikely times.

This would also build conciseness and clarity in your work. It is one of the irksome encumbrances to promoting yourself and the entity you represent. You must be able to produce conspicuous, non-technical prose that is a pleasure to read.

~Learn to be concise in your language or work with an experienced writer.

Promises- Schedules- Estimates

It has become habitual for some to dodge responsibilities for making commitments. It is imperative you provide genuine promises by introspecting your responsibilities. If you are afraid of “uncertain factors”; narrow it down by asking yourself “Will it be done in a matter of hours, weeks or months?” Decide a deadline after considering extra time for contingencies that sets you a reasonable miss under the comfortable figure.

~Good Business People set schedules they can meet with zeal at a pace commensurate with the significance of the job.

Boiling Matters Down

The faculty for reducing complicated situations to their essential elements is a form of wisdom, derived from experience. Do not be disposed to “muddy the water” or “ can never see the forest for the trees”. In most situations, the problem is over magnified. The facts are exaggerated, ramified, and complicated. The mental discipline to get to the heart of the matter is one of the most valuable qualities of a good executive.

~Integrate, Condense and Summarize.

Online Presence

Professional apps such as LinkedIn or a portfolio build the first impression of someone. Your social profiles are just a search engine away from being discovered by a future boss. Take time to make sure you know what are the details that will be displayed. Hold public-speaking, podcasts to help you reach out to your target audience and fellow professionals. If you have a fear of public speaking, the least you could do is try to conquer it like any other skill. Failure Breeds Success. Start by speaking with a peer support group or chamber of commerce.

~Half the Battle is conquered when you are aware of what is out there.

Realist with a hint of an optimist

People will approach you with different types of problems. An effective response is to invite them to glance at the problem together. It is seldom adequate to speculate about causes and solutions and hopes to sort them. Before being able to solve, You must first gain insight that can only be developed by observing first-hand what might be at once too subtle or complex only to imagine.

~Develop a “Let’s Go See!” Attitude.
